It has been a frustrating season for French midfielder Moussa Sissoko, since his £30m move from Newcastle to Tottenham, with the 27-year-old performing well below the expectations that Mauricio Pochettino has set him, leaving fans to label him as a ‘flop’ signing.

With only four assists and no goals to his name across all competitions, patience for the Frenchman to find his form may have all run out as he has failed to cement his place in Pochettino’s starting eleven.

While his Tottenham career looks all but over, with Spurs looking like they will offload the Frenchman in the summer transfer window, all hope is not lost of the player earning another move to a big-name club in Europe.

As reported in the Daily Star, La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are apparently interested in signing the 27-year-old as both remain huge admirers of the Frenchman.

As well as Real Madrid and Barcelona waiting in the wings, AC Milan have also been monitoring Sissoko’s situation as they wait for the transfer window to open.

Real Madrid did reportedly try to sign the 27-year-old from Newcastle last season, however, Tottenham beat them to it with a whopping £30m bid, although Spurs may now try to cut their losses and get a return on their investment while he is still a subject of interest.
