Juventus to Approach Barcelona With €25m Offer for Fringe Star Rafinha This Summer

Any transfer would see Rafinha, who has been made to make do with fringe opportunities wherever they have been available, follow his brother Thiago out of the club.

Thiago of course joined Bayern back in 2013 after failing to command a regular starting place at Camp Nou and has seen his career flourish this season after overcoming a serious knee injury he sustained early in his time in Germany.
For Barça the rumoured interest might actually be welcome. It was recently rumoured that with just €25m available for transfers this summer the Catalans would first need to raise funds for the much needed squad revamp through player sales.
Selling Rafinha for €25m would automatically double the transfer budget. Removing disappointing flop Andre Gomes from the books would be another way to add cash to the pot, while Jeremy Mathieu and Arda Turan also face uncertain futures.

It increasingly looks as though Barça won’t need the money to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool, though. It had been suggested that the Brazilian would cost €90m, but that has been followed up by claims from ‘Messi’ author Guillem Balague that Barça are not interested.
“His entourage is clearly working to move him to the Nou Camp. There are different reasons why Barca will not go for him,” Balague told Sky Sports on Tuesday.
“One is the cost and the other is they think he’s a forward rather than a midfielder. And of course they are completely sorted in attack.

“They are looking for a different type of midfielder. Nobody doubts Coutinho’s quality but Barcelona don’t have the money to be getting three or four top players for their first-choice line-up.”
More conventional Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti remains a rumoured target.
